Scottish dance bands are comparatively rare in England. Good ones are even rarer! We count ourselves fortunate to have found Brian and Strings and Reeds. Whether for dancing or just for listening, they really are ‘the tops’

Strings and Reeds have been playing for us at our barn dances for many years. I cannot recommend them too highly. Their music and humor constitute and excellent evening’s entertainment. They have a very varied selection of dances with instrumental breaks. They have our bookings from year to year and we now consider them as friends.

Just want to give you feedback on the Strings & Reeds band we booked for our ceilidh at Swanick on Saturday .
They were brilliant! Everyone had a great time and we really appreciated how well they included the children. We’d be more than happy to recommend them.

I want to take this opportunity to say how wonderful tonight was. We have had so many excellent comments.
The music was great! The caller of course was fab! A great atmosphere and a fun time.
Please thank everyone in the band again.
We hope to book again next year.

Just wanted to say a big “thank you” to you and your Strings and Reeds band for your super performance at our joint birthday celebration ceilidh on Saturday night.
Rowena and I had a wonderful time and it seems everyone else did too. Lots of people have specifically mentioned how great the band was in their feedback and you were a big factor in an
all-round fantastic evening. We thought you hit exactly the right note for the occasion and it was so good to see a caller, donned with a head mic, getting down off the stage to be right in the middle of the action. I think everyone who was there – with the possible exception of the band and the caretaker! – wishes it could have gone on longer. We might even have had time then for the second
”strip the willow”!
So well done to all of you. Please pass on our great appreciation to your colleagues.

Just wanted to pass on my compliments to “Strings and Reeds” who performed for my wife’s 60th birthday in Doncaster on Saturday, they were fantastic, everything we hoped for. The leader Mike was very accommodating and humorous, kept us all on our feet even when we were ready to drop! The musicians in the band really know their stuff and I hope to see them again someday.
