After years of an excellent Scottish band playing at our Burn’s night, our regular players retired, and it was with some trepidation that we sought a replacement and turned to Brian and his band We need not have worried at all ! Last year was their first year, and they managed a group of 146 diners, some dancing, some “people watching” with great skill. They were first and foremost excellent musicians who taught the dances to go with the music in an entertaining and easily understood way, particularly for those of us who had more enthusiasm than dance steps! This year, if anything, was even better! Quiet music as a background whilst eating, full participation in the tradition that is the Burns supper, followed by all our old favourites, walked through for the novices, and then performed with further instruction as required. The seasoned dancers danced, and those with “L” plates giggled their way through the evening, and once again a great time was had by all. Looking forward to next year, thanks to a great group of talented musicians who know how to please a crowd!
